Thunder Dog
by Michael Hingson, with Suzy Flory

Lovely, inspirational true story about a blind man who became a successful, educated business man and his guide dogs, seven so far, who was working at his desk on the 78th floor of the World Trade Tower on September 11th, 2001, when the first plane hit. His guide dog led him down 78 flights of stairs and he was one of the lucky ones who survived. When he was young, his parents allowed him to ride his bike out on the streets near his home, to the consternation of their neighbors. God bless his parent. Super Book

Stranger Than Science
by Frank Edwards

Fun read of short stories, kinda like the C-Files from the 60s. Although it’s touted as true, I read that the sources aren’t exactly stellar.

The Book Of Longings
by Sue Monk Kidd

Enjoyed another point of view of the Jesus story. As a female I feel women had more history/influence in our faith story. I liked the twist but will not teach it to my Sunday school class.

The Dark Tower VI - Song of Susannah
by Stephen King

Very interesting read, with the idea of Stephen King inserting himself within his own book. Looking forward to finishing with the final book!

Prayers for Sale
by Sandra Dallas

A quick reading, sweet little charmer of a book that follows the unlikely friendship between a young mother and an elderly woman and the secrets they keep as they live in Middle Swan, Colorado during the Great Depression. Middle Swan is a tough mining town and the bond these ladies share grows deep as they have both survived some very challenging trials.

Hannah's War
by Jan Eliasberg

WoW!! Based on true historical events, this is a fascinating story that has so many twists and turns. It has love, intrigue, spies, secret government plans, science, and confronts the reader with many moral dilemmas as researchers race to build the atomic bomb, an invention that will change everything.

The Old Man And The Sea
by Ernest Hemingway

Good read. Didn't like the short sentence direct style and was hoping for a happier ending but the book had many life themes and made you think so it did its job and in a concise manner.

The Path Between The Seas: The Creation of the Panama Canal, 1870-1914
by David McCullough

The history of the building of the Panama Canal as only David McCullough can write it! He details all trials and tribulations from 1870 through 1914. Sometimes too much detail for me but I give the man credit for all the research it took to write this story. Amazing!

The Woman In Cabin 10
by Ruth Ware

Good book, very similar to the Woman in the Window. A fun summer read.
